If you are unfamiliar with one of the hottest new trends in Global travel then take a look at the video below. Airbnb are at the crest of a growing trend of travelers who rent someone else’s home in the coolest locations around the world.

You can search the Airbnb database based on city and budget as well as your travel dates, the thing I like the most about the site is the comments from other travelers who have stayed there before, this is very reassuring as they always talk about the condition of the property, area and the “host” or property owner, who also has an opportunity to post underneath thanking them for coming, which is a nice touch.

There are 190 countries represented and the website is sleek and modern and very easy to navigate.

I had some guests come from out of town recently and it was a great option as luckily there was a property two minutes away from my apartment. The booking was all done online through the Airbnb system including payment, so you just need to arrange your check in time, pick-up the keys and have a quick tour by the owner. We are also planning on booking a unique property in Nagano next month for our annual family ski holiday.

So if you are looking for a different experience on your next holiday or if you have a property back home that you wouldn’t mind making some cash on without making any long term options, take a look at Airbnb.
